Holidays 2012

It's a busy holiday season!  We celebrated the 8 days of Hanukkah, went to Micah's school holiday concert, and went to see the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Nutcracker.  Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays as well!

November

What a busy month this has been!  Seth went to Prague to give a talk at a cancer conference.  Jessica played a solo with the Seattle Symphony.  We went down to Portland to spend Thanksgiving with the rest of the Pollack family.
Here are some pictures...

Day at the farm

Good thing we left Maddy home from this adventure as her howling might have raised a stir in the farm animals ....

Whidbey Island

We took a day trip out to Whidbey Island today.  It's only about an hour away from Seattle (including the ferry ride) but it feels very rural.  We spent a lot of time on the beach, which was by far Maddy's favorite part of the trip.  We've had beautiful weather here for the past several weeks so we've been trying to take advantage of it before the gray days return.

Our New Family Portrait

Several years ago, we started a tradition of getting family portraits done every year for the holiday cards.  This year, we did it a little earlier so that we could take advantage of the beautiful summer weather.  This was taken at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle.

Mina's other Maddy

Mina enjoying the convention ...

Mina couldn't help but get swept up in the excitement that was the Democratic National Convention. Daddy likes Barack but Mina likes Michelle.

Olympic National Park

We played hooky today and spent the day at Olympic National Park.  It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive/ferry ride to the park from Seattle.  We went hiking with Maddy and we even stopped by the Olympic Game Farm, where wild animals roam free as you drive through the farm in your car!  As you can imagine, Maddy went crazy and we had to keep our windows closed to not scare the animals.  It was a fantastic day!
