A day at the zoo

Jessica's best friend Elizabeth came to visit for a few days. She came directly from Finland, where she had spent the past few weeks. She brought Micah a cool Finnish book about a character named Moomin and also a UCLA sweatshirt!

During her visit, Jessica, Micah and Elizabeth went to the zoo in Seattle! Although we all thought Micah might be interested, he ended up napping throughout the whole afternoon. Jessica and Elizabeth, however, saw some cool animals including a tapir and couple of really scary grizzly bears.

Haley's visit

This was a big weekend for Micah. His Aunt Haley came to visit with Michael. They played a lot with Micah- he especially liked it when Michael did the bouncy bounce.

Micah also met Jessica's cousin Rachel and her husband Jim. She got married last weekend in Houston and went to Alaska for her honeymoon. Seth and Jessica were really glad to have met Jim because they couldn't make it to the wedding.

Jessica is happy to report that Micah has finally outgrown the Bugaboo bassinet. He can finally sit on the stroller seat like a big boy! This is very important because Jessica finds Micah too heavy to carry around in his car seat.

More (and better) pics of our house

These are pictures that Catherine took when she came to visit us. We feel really lucky to have such an amazing backyard with lots of old trees and the stream! We may just bring out our sleeping bags and camp out on our deck!

4th of July Weekend!

We had a great time for the fourth of July weekend! Jessica's sister Catherine was in town. Besides having a great time with Catherine, she was also a huge help and helped Jessica put the nursery together, unpack all our boxes and go shopping for all the things we need in our new home. Saturdary we had our good friend Wyatt and Lana over -- they were at GW with Seth and now live and work in Olympia. Sunday we went to Pike's place market and saw a great bluegrass band playing right out in front of the original Starbuck's.
